    But Mares was very popular so taking his scalp bolstered Gonzalez in the eyes of many, whereas Arce is old and shot and should've retired after Donaire stopped him, and Gonzalez didn't have to prove a point by brutally KOing him.

    I agree. It's very strange. What happened to careful match making, building a career? It feels like they could have managed him so much better than this. Incompetence like this can seriously diminish a promising fighter's career.

    its a real pickem fight for me.. i favor johnny because i feel he has the confidence and russel after the loma loss might be feeling a bit pressured

    Loma couldn't do it and Loma is light years better than Gonzales. Russell Jr should win this one.
