I read in today's paper Johnny Lewis is writing a tell all story of his life in a up coming autobiography talking about the character's he know's an his links to the sydney underworld as well as his five world champion's.
I think Johnny's too polite and too nice a guy for this to be a tell-all. It would surprise me if he took that route. Just a PR angle by a journo to begin spinning and marketing it.
Agree.. Reminds me of a review of Bill Waterhouse's autobiography as being tell-all etc etc, thinking that it might be a decent read I bought it and had a look.. needless to say it turned out to be a self serving load of crap, most of the stories structed around their complete innocence, bla bla bla.. 'Robbie is a mathematical genius and thats how he made a living as a pro punter for over a decade" bla bla bla
Funny you should say that BushBoy, I thought the very same thing about that book. Especially the bit with "Poor Big Philou's nobbling had nothing to do with me". ****en please, in up to his eyeballs!!!!
Yeah mate I know, I'm not sure how I found the patience to read that from cover to cover.. I think the book was just written so that big bill could have a bit of cash to buy the youngn's a few nice christmas pressies. The bloke was best mates with neville wran.. what is that saying about birds of a feather?
Bill Waterhouse. Anyone who buys the memoirs of a Barrister & expects to read the truth will be sadly disappointed. These people are disconnected with it. They live in a world of their own.:-(
Lewis' book has the potential to be a pretty good read - will have a flick through when it's on the shelves before I commit though.
wont be out until just before fathers day. will be a good read but probably wont go too far. Fenechs book on the other hand comming out next year will be a tell them all take no prisoners book
Could be a good read also. ...will be especially interesting to read what has to say about himself (ie life out of the ring).
Fenech seems like one of those personalities that twists things in his own head..Its not lying because he truly believes it. But Ill read both...Always interested in these sort of things.
My oldman (also being a bookie) asked big Bill what was the go with writing the book, and Bill reckons he sat down and in long hand spent 14 days straight writing it. I also read it cover to cover and find it amusing how he glosses over a lot of information we all know is bogus................ some of the best spin i've seen since the Mike Gatting ball by Warney.
Probably same scenario to WhataRock says above for Fenech, ie Waterhouse has believed it for so long it's become fact - at least in his own mind anyway. The thing that amazes most about the Waterhouses is they got away with so much over such a long period of time - real pros!
