I remember the Haye-Audley buildup and (he may have been playing devils advocate and to keep an interest in the fight) he was giving audley a chance. McGuigan said it like it was and shot him down. Nelson doesn't seem to have a clue half the time

I was shocked by the way he and company were so heavly in favour of degale, i think groves won in the best way possible it removed doubt about his boxing ability becuase they viewed him as a crude power puncher before that fight.

    good article by JN though

That's true. We're like football fans though. Happy with a certain player in one game, then telling everyone he's shite in the next game. We're just fans of the sport. Of course Nelson is too, but in his position you surely have to keep some level of perspective.

He was amusingly led along on the James DeGale tidal wave and then it all came crashing down on him.

The nonsense he was talking after the weigh in was cringeworthy. Even McGuigan had to jump in to save him from saying anything else. So OTT.

I've recently warmed to Nelson over McCrory, Piper etc He is passionate like Barry. Get rid of Calzaghe. We need passionate people like McGuigan and Nelson bouncing off each other and not afraid to disagree.

That's what Anderson was doing to Groves walking him down and bullying him .I would like to see a second from these 2 .I like the both of them man .Anderson power Groves heart in that fight .Anderson wasn't taking a step back in that fight man .

I dont mind Nelson as a pundit sat along side McGuigan, dont agree with him a lot of the time but at least he seems more natural and has some good banter with Barry. But his presenting skills are none existent, and its cringeworthy watching him and Adam do Ringside. Its a shame because we all watch it (what else is there other than KO TV?!) but having a decent dynamic presenter would make it a lot more entertaining.

If you compare it to F1 on the BBC, there are regular experts and ex-drivers etc. but Jake Humphries actually holds it all together and makes it engaging to watch. He seems like "one of us" and Sky boxing could do with the same. Dont get me wrong I like Adam Smith, but he is suited better to ringside interviews than presenting. I think thats the problem, there isn't one professional presenter on there and it suffers as a result.
(Sorry gone off the topic of Nelson's article somewhat but had to get that out!)

TBH I think they drew lotts, the winner put Hayes case forward and the loser had to defend Audley. They had to show that new toy off as well IIRC?
