Of course Nelson, the twat, went on to milk the **** out of that title and bore british boxing half to death until he retired. Now the fans have to put up with him every week on Ringside.
Thompson is a guy who doesnt start winning until you beat his ass down, see they haye fight, a fight many haye haters point to, not knowing that thompson had a reputation for destroying the guy who was just destroying him.

In fairness, Nelson would have outclassed him totally anyway. There's understandably a lot of love for Thompson, but really he wasn't very good. Incredibly brave with an incredible punch, but in any given fight where he's being outgunned it's more likely that he won't land the punch than vice-versa.
Truly awful stoppage, the worst I have ever seen. Thompson throughout his career showed he could end a fight with one punch like against Rothman and Dunstan, he was getting hit but also landing shots he could have very well turned the fight around with one big punch. Any fighter would feel completely gutted and cheated in losing a fight like that but to lose your world title like that, I would have knocked the referee out and showed him what it feels and looks like when you are really getting knocked out and stopped. Truly despicable.
