Don't know. Hide had some real speed and power but I wonder if Nelsons style would take that away from him and make him look less than stellar.

Nelson had too much ring savvy for Hide and would win quite comfortably.

    Hide would annihilate him.

Nelson must be the only well known british fighter of recent years who I have never properly watched. Hardly anything of him on youtube.

    I'd go for Hide.

I think Hide gets unfairly knocked down for his efforts against Bowe and Vitali at HW. Both would totally murder Nelson who never faced anyone even half that calibre.

Around Nelson's time I think the CW division was probably seen as the least attractive in boxing and skipped by many decent fighters. It was sort of a no mans land and today, still sort of is.

I have to admit that I don't rate Nelson's reign at CW that highly.

Nelson would probably knock him out.

Hide at HW was a completely different animal to Hide at Cruiser where his opposition was limited and his stay brief...There is no doubting that he could bang (reference the Bowe fight) but I have absolutely no doubt that Nelson would handle him quite easily...Nelson is underrated in my opinion

    this ^^^

i think nelson is a lot better than most people give him credit for. i bet most voters haven't really seen him fight a reasonable number of fights added to the fact he plays his own skills and career down a lot on tv

you watched the boat that guy built?

    I can't have it sorry.

The meteoric rise to fame since Nelson got on Sky has been ludicrous.

How anyone could knock Calzaghe yet support Nelson's WBO reign of terror at Cruiser... I'll never know.

Vitali or Bowe would have ripped Nelson's head off and took it home with them.

    I am the OP.

It's not really anyway, as I very much suspect that Hide is widely judged on his performances against those two and his antics at going down 'easily'.

Had Nelson faced those two, you'd no doubt get a lot of more questions about his chin too.

That's not to say Hide's chin wasn't questionable... Was he ever knocked out at CW?
