johnny nelsons book great read

Of all the fighters i probs watched most.....i aint read his book.

On the list.

 

To be honest you ****s wanna read Mickey Walkers or Barney Ross's biography

I hear ya but he went from a champ to sparring partner to boring defences........and i here ppl (a few since i been here) saying this book is mint.

Something has to give.

He was actually Paddy O' Cork or whatever name Ingle came up with.

Then did a backflip etc......yada yada.

I seen Nelson on a couple of undercards in the late 80's and he used to **** about a lot during bouts ....... stamping his feet in time to pitty-pat flurries, pulling faces etc.
As he improved, he just cut out the clowning but The Entertainer label stayed with him a bit longer.

 

Nelson's become so annoying recently as a presenter, just running his mouth off before fights, interrupting guests and reflecting on his own career endlessly.

 

I agree 100% with that, i noticed it most at the Groves VS Degale fight when Barry McGuigan was trying to make a case for a Groves win but Johnny kept talking over him and saying there was only one winner in the fight and Groves had no chance. It gets annoying!!!

 

Will keep an eye out for the Nelson book. Cheers.

 

Very good read:good Would be even better if he fought in the 19th century, apparently.
