    Always remember he was links and rumored to fight hamed which never happened shame. Hamed would have sparked him but tapia was a great fighter in his time

    At the Promo for Tapia-Ayala 1 I got both Johnny & my friend Paulie to sign my Press program & package for me Paulie signed it
    " To C.J. from the next WBA bantamweight champ Paulie Ayala"
    Johnny saw this & signed " To C.J. from WBA champ Johnny Tapia a guy who thinks Paulie is wrong" LOL Two great guys

    I remember the first time I saw him fight, hadn't really heard of him yet, but I thought that this guy was a level above most of the other fighters I am seeing on tv. Just a natural fighter, wish there were more like him. HBO has a documentary on him premiering sometime this week. Can't wait
