Assuming Miguel Canto can make the weight at Super Flyweight, who do you think would win in this interesting match up?

First and foremost, Canto weighed in on the same day. Nowadays, he could easily cut to and dominate straw or light fly given a day to weigh in.

Sorry mate but this matchup just isn't feasible, or particularly interesting. Tapia in Konadu mode would likely be hassle for Canto stylistically anyway, even if we imagine he's a good sized same day fly.

In terms of the proposed matchup, while Canto tamed much bigger fighters, for the majority of Canto's reign there was no super fly weight division, and with same day weigh in's Tapia would've likely been a bantamweight and then feather for all of his career. Unlike the monster Avelar, Tapia was less manouverable. Canto was pretty much one dimensional. How is he going to do anything at range, and what is he gonna' once he cuts to distance? Fire off a few shots then get back out. They'd do nothing to Tapia, and Canto isn't gonna' outscore him and dictate the pace like he did against Avelar, who obviously punched all the way to super bantam or thereabouts. Tapia wasn't a big puncher but he'd hurt Canto.

Just an odd, odd thread. Sorry pal.
