Wtf:huh This is an all time classic right here!!!!!!!!:bbb:bbb Boxer/scrapper vs classic Boxer/puncher. TOugh one im my opinon i wouldnt argue with whoever you picked. One thing though this fight would not end in a kO. Ive got some anaylisis on this fight but would like to hear some feed back first. Also throwaway HTH who would you rank higher in a ATG list?
Despite mercurial flares of brilliance by the tempermental Tapia, I put the more consistant, focused and steady Canizales ahead of him. Canizales ruled the roost of his division with brilliance and again, consistancy.
I won't give a comment on H2H, but I rate Johnny Tapia higher. I think he beat slightly better opposition, and he was more successful in moving up.
Oh, good. I was actually holding back from saying the same thing on the classic forum. I completely agree with this.
No more Pong w!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUt ill bet i know what your response will be:twisted::twisted::twisted:
Canizales is one of my favorite fighters of all time, but his title reign was mostly made up of okay to good level of opposition. Tapia wasn't fighting Hall of famers regularly either but I felt he won at least one of the two Ayala fights, he beat Romero, and winning a title at Featherweight whilst sporting an unblemished record as a Super Flyweight ain't bad either. Tapia for me.
But I would like to draw attention to the fact that I originally didn't say it and wasn't going to...But when you play with Pong fire...someone's bound to get burned.
I agree with you Lora:good But his first fight with Ayala could have gone either way and Tapia was robbed in the 2nd fight. Tapia got a gift over my homeboy Efren Chavez in his pro debut:yep Fight was ruled a draw but my boy won that fight.
