Who do you see winning this interesting BW match up? Both fought Nana Konadu, with Sahaprom losing by KO and Tapia whitewashing a past prime Konadu.

Would be a fun, competitive shootout with Sahaprom edging Tapia IMO.

my heart says Sahaprom… it would depend on who the referee is and what he allows Tapia to get away with... great fighters

How was Konadu past prime when Tapia fought him? The cherrypicking of primes is out of control

Well... for one thing he was already 34 years old which is old age for lower weight class fighters. Not to mention that his fight with Tapia was one of his last fights before he retired. Not that hard to figure out.

Nothing in his career indicated that though. He only had the loss to Chuwatana that was immediately avenged. And he had recently KOd Deathmask (who wasn't fully adapted but was already a prime fighter).

Kondau was being hyped up as a tough destroyer before Tapia came and easily schooled him, which no one expected. It wasnt what he couldn't do, it was that Tapia didn't let him do anything he wanted.

Tapia imo would win a clear 8 - 4 decision over Deathmask, whose actually style really isn't troubling to Tapia, just his smarts and intangibles. Just as good, smart a boxer, with superior feet and reflexes. He would probably fight him similar to Konadu, actually.

Well, I was just going off the Moon fights and the years he spent fighting nobody's. The late resurgence at BW against Chuwatana and Sahaprom. The Sahaprom KO was a brilliant win, I doubt many people thought it would age as well as it did, he took full advantage of Sahaprom's style at the time; the more aggressive and less defense oriented.

I agree with the Tapia/Sahaprom analysis. What was the Tapia fight you showed me? I forget the name. But I tend to think speed is a major factor in technical fights like this, and Tapia was faster.

Ok? age alone can't indicate past prime.

He was 1 or 2 in the world at Bantamweight(Tim Austin being the other guy) had the 2nd and 3rd best wins of his career in 96 and 97 before fighting Tapia in 98

    Cherrypicking primes MUST STOP
