I knew that he had a pretty crazy life but I heard Steve Bunce say today that he had to carry out some press conferences behind bulletproof glass?

This can't be true can it?

He's been through stuff that most people havent been through.. Even the hardest mutha****ers on streets havent seen what he's seen.. I'd turn loco too if i saw my mom getting raped. Id unleash hell..

Tapia was a bad ass dude no doubt.. He could have been so much more though.

Ouma doesn't have enough fan base for people to be interested in his movie.

    Tapia is a legend.

His book his crazy he talks about sleeping on the porch and getting the **** beaten of him daily and living with drug addicted uncles and aunt and then says but it wasn't too bad.

I think Tapia stopped giving a **** a very young age. He really doesn't care if he lives or dies.

Most true stories don't need 'fans bases' to be turned into very good movies.
Okay if the movie was to be marketed al la Tyson's then yes, but if one of the major film companys took on the story of Ouma's life and promoted it like any other film(and not just a boxing film) you don't think they could make it succesful.

Yes Tapia does have a bigger fan base, way bigger !
But I think it would be a disservice to either of these men if a film was done on them as a boxing film, for boxing people.
Their lives are so exceptional, and dramatic that they can be sold and told to the general public of pretty much any nation.

I think a documentary was actually already done on Ouma, but it wasn't a large scale thing :-(

Must get around to getting myself a copy of Tapia's book aswell, 'Mi Vida Loca' indeed.
