Johnson did some good defensive work in there. However, when other guy is throwing more punches and you're not able to get off, you're going to lose the round. Johnson wasn't blocking all of those punches, a good amount were landing. Watch the Dawson/Tarver fight. Tarver was blocking a lot of punches. However, he wasn't able to get off himself.

The whole "he didn't have a scratch on him" theory is serioulsy flawed. Tarver didn't have a scratch on him and Dawson had a mark above his eye. You're not going to argue that Tarver won are you? Andrade didn't have a scratch on him against Kessler and Kessler had a bloody nose. Are going to tell me Andrade won? Fights aren't scored on facial damage.

I like Glen Johnson but he did not beat Dawson.

It's the old spillover effect. Guy has a couple good rounds and that makes people forget that it's a 12 round fight. Sort of like how people thought McCline beat Samuel Peter when Samuel clearly won 9 or 10 rounds aside from the knockdown rounds.
