Round Three Johnson cut loose and landed right and left, swings on the head. Flynn rushed In but as usual failed to land. He butted the colored mar unintentionally and quickly shook his adversary's hand contritely. Johnson jarred his man with two wicked right hooks to the Jaw. A third similarly applied forced Flynn to close quarters. As the round seared its close Flynn took a brace and landed left and right on the face. Johnson, however, had a big lead as the bell sounded. Round Four Flynn rushed to a clinch. All his attempts to land at close range were blocked by the colored fighter. Flynn continued to fight to close quarters and finally landed a left on tho face. It was a very tame round. Round Five Flynn rushed in but his attempts to land were wild. Flynn landed two good lefts to the colored man's face and Johnson retaliated with a straight left to the face. Two lefts found a mark on Flynn's face and they went to close quarters. Separating, Johnson, still smiling, whirled his right hard to the stomach and a moment later duplicated the blow. A third try was equally successful. Flynn, however, fought back desperately and landed right and left on the face. Johnson had a slight lead in this round. Round Six Flynn rushed in but was met with a right to the face. Johnson Jabbed left twice to the face and followed it with another, sending his man back several feet. An ineffectual mix followed and Flynn forced his man to the ropes with-out landing. It was a slow round without advantage to either man. Round Seven As usual Flynn rushed In close and the colored man landed several right jolts to the body. Johnson pushed his man out of a clinch and clouted him over tho eye with a right swing. Flynn worked into a clinch and breaking away landed a hard right to the Jaw. Johnson sent Flynn's head back with a straight left to the Jaw and the latter wrestled the black man to the ropes. Johnson easily wiggled out of a corner and some desultory sparring ensued. The bell again closed a rather tiresome round. Flynn's left eye was closed as he took his seat.
