I'd love it to be Korobov. I think he'll make Golovkin look human.

I really am amazed to see people keep bringing up Lara. Lara is a decent fighter to be sure, but he doesn't have the size, style, or power to even be a blip.

Even more puzzling is Lara being elevated , while Jacobs is available. Jacobs is an actual legit full sized 160lber, with world level 160lb punching power and respectable ring skills and pedigree. His only loss comes to someone who was generally considered a legit matchup for GGG. (Pirog was no slouch) He is coming off a good win.

For fks sake ppl, if you are going to try and draft a Haymon guy at least draft the one who is a credible top5 160lber not the undersized guy who barely got by Angulo and lost to Canelo trac k and field style.

    Jacobs > Lara

I'm not so sure Jacobs wants it right now. I think he too is using the BJS approach of pricing himself out:

From BadLeftHook - On Gennady Golovkin

"I didn't come into this sport to duck and dodge no one. He's not someone who I fear. He's not someone who I look at as someone to avoid. Obviously when you're dealing with a sport like this, you want to make sure you have the finances where they need to be in order for it to be such a big fight. That's all I'm worried about. I'm just making sure that I get in there and get compensated correctly. Not that I'm saying, oh, let's wait 10 fights so I can get this under my belt or that under my belt. I just want to make sure it's right for me, and I have one of the best advisers in the game, and he always advises us to make sure we have the most reward for the risk we take going into the ring."

I would much rather prefer Jacobs over anyone else avail at this time. So much silence from all these parties that I believe something is brewing. GGG should make the same offer to Jacobs that they did BJS. Whatever happens, Golovkin needs to hurry up and get something lined up.

    dont be so naive...

people calling for ggg/lara would rather see ggg/jacobs....they just know which one would be more likely to happen ASAP....people arent forgetting jacobs when asking to see ggg/lara.....

I am gonna bump this thread for every day that Lara and Ward continue to pretend that GGG is not on the lookout for the opponent.

    As for why Lara:

He is one of the best runners in the sport. He drew with Canelo and beat Paul Williams (whatever scorecards might say). It would be interesting to see if Genady can catch Lara and cut the ring against a guy that is currently pound for pound best at moving backwards
