In all fairness, interbox should have offered the purse they were giving
to pavlik to johnson, and here's why. Johnson has been actively fighting
the very top in opposition in and around his weightclass in main events
on major networks for a long time now. He's never in a bad fight and the fights are close. He, whether or not he's the headliner, is a world renowned fighter. Pavlik, on the other hand, has done DICK in a long time.
At this point johnson deserved at least the same purse as kelly, and the win for team bute honestly would've meant more than the pavlik win seeing as johnson just fought froch in a good close fight. That could've
gauged where bute stood h2h with the other SMW's whereas kelly looked
lackluster against a nobody at 168. Johnson's right, interbox doesn't have
    faith in there guy.

I-box was offering a purse to Pavlik higher then every purses Bute has made in his career. I know that the Road warrior was abuse and rub more times then any other boxers but i don't see why it should be I-Box to pay for it!

500-600K would be the best Jonhson should get.

You're talking out of your ass with that statement sir. Johnson
was making 500-600k for fighting green, cloud, dawson, hell
he even made 200k for fighting yusek mack on an ESPN friday
night fights card a couple of years back, so he's going to take
250-300k to fight in a packed house on a major network card?
Dudes world class and fights the elite and he's paid his dues.
Nothing less than 750k for the road warrior. You need to learn
the sport frenchie. you're showing your noob status right now.

    STFU stupid.

Boxing is a buisness. Pavlik vs Bute would generate more money than Jonhson vs Bute.

Not about who should deserve that or this because he paid his due.

Johnson isn't much of a draw. If he can get more fighting someone else then let him. Also if Bute doesn't want to make someone an offer they will accept he can keep fighting nobodies & take the criticism that comes with that. I don't think Bute cares about his next fight, he's looking to the s6 finalists.

Folks need to appreciate Glen Johnson whilst he's around, he's already well past what a come forward slugger's career should end at and he's still very effective. Solid fighter who'd fight anyone, teak tough and skillful. Million a time from here on out in a fair world. I wish him all the best.

Uh, no. He made somewhere between 10-12k for fighting Mack.

    EDIT: found the article

Johnson said he thought about retiring after the loss to Dawson but changed his mind. He didn't get beat up, took very few clean shots and had an opportunity to get back into the hunt for a title very quickly, which he hopes he can parlay into money fights.

"I really didn't want to put myself through the long road back at my age," he said. "This is the perfect situation for me. Instead of months and months, this opportunity came quickly and was a breath of fresh air and put new air under my wings. I am excited about it."

He isn't so excited about the paltry paycheck -- just $12,000, the same as he would have made on the Mosley-Berto card, and a long way from the $1.25 million he once made in a rematch with Antonio Tarver.

Where are you getting these numbers from? According to ESPN, Johnson only made $12,000 for the Mack fight and $60,000 for the Cloud fight.
