Now i thought the super 6 tourny was in shambles and the green-johnson fight was just to fill space ( a lot of people wanted green-johnson out of the tourny and the remaining 4 at the time to fight eachother straight away) but all in all glen proved to be resilliant and really suprised me with that combo to stop green. its why i love boxing, anything can happen (Ali KO Foreman, Foreman KO Moorer etc.) However the Marquez-Lopez fight was fantastic aswell. two great boxers slugging it out ( it got ugly at times but meh ) but all in all Lopez fought a good fight and was on his way to winning but Marquez was still fighting back. I wished the shoulder injury didnt happen as to see what would happen but both men were hurt and i wish them the best of health but Lopez still hasnt shown me he has what it takes to be Yuriorkis Gamboa. All in all i just caught up with the fights this morning as i was out drinking at a party last night and at least somethings going well this morning, great night of boxing......too bad for the hangover :drink :beat
I was quite impressed with Lopez last night, it was probably his biggest test (name wise) to date and although it wasnt the best version of Marquez he is still a dangerous fighter who deservingly is hovering about the top end of the division. Lopez took some big shots and stood up to them well. He kept going forward and looked good offensively. As for Gamboa, as long as they both keep winning im just looking forward to the big fight, if and when it happens. Gamboa looks stronger but i wouldnt write Lopez off, i see it as a close fight.
I still you're still drunk if you werent impress by JML.. this was a no win situation for him.. lose and he lost to a old veteran and he was overated.. win easily and he beat and old over the hill veteran... win a close entertaining fight and he strugled against and old veteran.. you see my point.. haters are not going to give him credit either way :hat
whats up with you people? If a boxer outclasses someone it means hes boring or was matched-up perfectly against the right opponent. If a boxer fights a war it means hes flawed and unimpressive.
I understand the TS point of view, Lopez seemed to get a little hot headed in there. I hope he really learns from this fight and stops trying to reach elite fighters with punches from 4feet distance, they may land against his sparring partners, but not against the elite of a good division. I think Lopez has what it takes to come out in top of the division if he fights smart and keeps learning and improving his game. Right now Gamboa looks like the stronger and more dangerous man, but I still think the fight would be close (and a war at that). Lopez needs to fight smart.
Juan Manuel Lopez failed to impress? you didn't see the fight. yep, he looked like allen green in the andre ward fight, no action whatsoever, no skills, just feints. he's a bum
On paper Juanma has the better resume, but fights are not won on paper. Salido was a good test for Gamboa and a good fighter. Also, Mtagwa is a fighter in common they have in their resume and even though styles make fights and some people believe Juanma was drained for that fight, Gamboa beat him in a way that's hard to think Lopez could top or match.
