Jacobs tended to do that a lot when he was marketing his films to television.

When Jacobs sold the Dempsey-Tunney 1 fight (the short Big Fights version) that is often showed on ESPN, he mixed up the rounds.

The last round in the Jacobs version is't the last round ( used to know, but I think it's actually round 6 or 7). In fact, in the Jacobs version, you can see the fighters return to their corners and SIT DOWN, which they didn't do when the fight was over. Then the next clips is Tunney's hand being raised.

The FightFilmsGuy on Youtube has a close to full version of the fight. And BritishPathe on Youtube shows Tunney's team celebrating after the final bell.

If Jacobs didn't have a whole fight and still wanted to package it to TV, he just provided narration and said one of the other rounds was the last round.

It’s a real tome, must have entailed enormous research. The accompanying documentary, of the same name by Ken Burns at 20 minutes short of 4 hours is as good. It’s on YouTube.

The film is up and quite a good watch. I thought more footage would have been discovered by the lead up but as it is, while the fight was one sided I think Tommy Burns did a little better than many had been led to believe. For a guy that lost every round he was game through out.

Great film ... what can be achieved by sharing opposed to hoarding ... here's Burns going down in the actual fight "after'" the classic stoppage moment which was actually in round 7 ..

    It's on Youtube ,
