Johnny should stop him early. But you know what? Thompson via TKO. Hendricks keeps draining down to 170. One day it's gone be his undoing. He is also on the slide and "Wonderboy" is on the way up. Thompson in the first.
I think this is a tough fight to pick. I'm leaning towards Thompson to win. Hendricks seems to have more and more trouble making the weight and has been in a few wars now also. Thompson has been training heavily with Weidman for a few years now so his improvements in that department should be noticeable. His only loss in the UFC was a great fight with Matt Brown when he was on a tear a few years back. I say Thompson points.
If Hendrix was having trouble making weight before, he's gonna be a shambles now that theres no IV rehydration
Hendrix is all about effectiveness. I don't rate him technically. I don't even think he fully utilises his wrestling. However he'll force you into a fight, he'll be strong and he'll hit you hard. If you aren't a high level practitioner then he'll leave with the W. Thompson is clearly talented with a lot of skill BUT here we will find out if his style has real substance. The ability to execute his dynamic fighting against an opponent whose record suggests he won't just stand there and let you look fancy. If he can do that then people will have to sit up. Substance beats style unless style also has substance!
I predict Thompson's dynamic style and fluid combinations will begin to catch the flat footed Hendricks early leading to a stunning 1st round KO . Thompson will probably break his right foot which will hamper him in later fights
