What should I expect? How much in US. $ is normal? What will my first day be like? What can I expect to happen? dose it depend on the gym? Some people might mistake me for being old I'm 35, if I decide to take part in compition what are my opitions? Should I be a gym rat to quickly learn or should I go a few times a week to give my body some rest and recovery? Thanks any advise is apraciated.
1. Your 35, you are old 2. You can fight in the masters division (I think it starts at 35 yo or 40 yo) 3. Start off a few times a week and build up, no matter how much you lifted weights or exercised in the past if you put in a good day your first day your shoulders will be sore, upper back too probably. 4. Lightly shadowbox on the days your not at the gym focusing on chin down, hands up, punch straight out and straight back to guard (no dropping the hand at all). Don't shadowbox intensely for about a month, make sure you have form and everything down. 5. Shadowbox with the mouthpiece in to get used to it. Nothing worse than sparring and you keep having to readjust in the middle of a round. 6. Shadowbox when your fresh at the start of the session. When your done everything, rest, and shadowbox a little more focusing on technique again to really ingrain proper form. You can probably expect the trainer to just show you a couple of basic punches and how to move straight forward and back while throwing the basic 1+2. He might show you how to jump rope and the rope drill. Thats how my first day went.
As for price, when I lived in Milwakee it was 70 a month and now in North Carolina Im currently paying 64 a month. From what Ive heard and seen though it could vary plus or minus ten dollars. It also seems to depend on how long your contract is, if they do contracts. Like the other guy said though you're gonna be mad sore in your miinor muscles from your calves to delts. Do lots of shodow boxing like he said to, rreally focus on getting form down, and the thing he said about guys needing a minute to fix their mouth piece, extremely irritating. I hate it when guys need a minute to fidget with it.
