Wow, so even as late as it now is we are still getting live undercard.

 

Carlos Pérez vs. He Su Khan, 8 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Carlos “Ratón” Pérez is the home fighter but you'd expect going by their records that he is being fed to He Su Khan (billed as Russian but very east Asian looking despite his 5'11" stature), a younger prospect with a more flattering record and every physical advantage on the tale of the tape...

 

Seriously there is no way Khan is ethnically just plain old Russian. Half-Mongolian or Japanese, perhaps?

 

Good action in the 1st.

 

10-9 HSK but didn't have it all his way. The rat is a slippery veteran and gets in sneaky good combinations with some heft on them even as Khan is out-landing him with pot shot jabs and straight combos with more textbook outside boxing.

 

Pérez has a very loose style, reminds me a little of Kiko Martinez with his lolling at-sea manner of movement and the heavily loaded-up overhands falling in.

 

10-9 Pérez, did some nice jab and withdraw ambush stuff, looking pretty slick for now. (in a hyperactive, awkward, unconventional way)

Khan only landed well in the clinch with rabbit punches. He's kind of dirty.

Ref having to call for a break every five seconds.

 

Lots of unintentional head clashes.

 

Khan the more chiseled specimen and probably more athletically gifted but too basic and robotic for Pérez's liquid, off-the-rails matador game.

 

Khan landing blatant rabbit punches in the fourth, crowd whistling and yelling angrily, wanting a more stern warning from the ref who did nothing despite having a clear view of it standing just behind Pérez.

 

Finally point taken from Khan, ref buckling to crowd pressure.
