GnP without space for Maia try a submission.....
I think Fitch has a better stand up game......
But wait a minute...I just remembered, Erick almost submited Fitch, right ??? Well, maybe is not an awful fight then.....

I still can't believe that he got out of Silva's RNC. That was just about as deep as they get. Apparently he trained RNC defence like a madman when prepping for Penn.

Frankly i'm surprised this fight took so long to happen. To me, matching these 2 guys up is a no brainer.
I think this is a good fight for Maia. He's easily among the top BJJ guys in the UFC. And Fitch is a phenomenal wrestler. As talented as he is, Maia's elite BJJ is still limited against high pressure brawlers (which is why he lost against Munoz, a good, but less technically skilled fighter)
Fitch on the other hand is playing Maia's game, and Maia's a master chess player. It should be a good fight, but I'd give it to Maia by submission.

Now there's always the possibility that it could be boring if both play it safe, and do not want to engage on the ground. Then Fitch could pick him apart with strikes. But I wouldn't expect a spectacular knockout - perhaps a decision.

My money is still on Maia by submission.

I'm not so sure that Fitch has that big of an advantage standing.

Maia looks like a completely different fighter when his opponents are 170, vs 185.

    I think he takes this.

I think Maia's pot shotting kickboxing will work for him here.

Still, desperate for this to go to the ground. And Vic, I disagree, Silva and BJ got in enough good positions that I think Maia can as well.

Hopefully goes to the ground! Can't wait will be brilliant this.

I'm in Thailand when it's on though :-(
