The average person isn't really capable of handling a good leg kick. There is a story of Donald Cerrone winning a street fight with one leg kick.

In a fair street fight (which happen, obviously. Not every street fight ends with broken beer bottles and gunshots) a trained mixed martial artist will win just about every time, and quickly. The chance of them landing first his far greater, and if they do get hit, they are less likely to panic and shell up, assuming they are still conscious.

why would an mma guy land first far greater compared to a boxer? Most street fights are not fair and usually start with a sucker punch.

No, has a chance. Boxers are at a serious disadvantage at MMA, but many are versatile and agile enough to use their footwork to neutralize some of the angles necessary for a take-down, just a theory I haven't seen employed. I've seen MMA fighters side-step when an opponent shoots, and that's obviously not something easy to read, but something a boxer could adapt to. Jones is probably too big for a one punch knockout but he's likely never been hit with anything that compares to a Floyd straight right.

the eye is the most painful part of the human body. Huge target for a Combat JJ man. I wonder why there arent any pure Combat JJ Men ever in UFC? Probably because that training is for real fighting. Self-Defense. MMA is a sport. Boxing is a sport. Hockey is a sport. Combat JJ is self defense. If someone hits you with a bottle, you say good technique because he got you. On the street, ANYTHING goes.

it's not 'pure, sport boxing' that resembles a street fight more than mma, but 99.99999% of street and bar fights are punching, and when they go to the ground, at least in a bar, resemble a Battle Royal in WWF.

This isn't true. Just off the top of my head, Tyson Fury has been talking **** on MMA for the past three months or so. I'm sure there are others as well.

Some techniques are just plain too dangerous for the octagon. We don't want to see deaths due to the kill-you-in-a-second techniques masters teach their most privledged students behind closed doors :rasta

all bar fights have punching. less than 1% of 1% end up with an ankle lock. What's there for me to think about? Boxing is a much closer relative to your average street fight than UFC fighting. This shouldnt even be up for debate.

HOWEVER, when these shlubs DO punch, it closely resembles the techniques employed by an mma fighter, or a UFC Champion, so in that sense, and when only using punching technique as the sole variable, a street fight resembles an mma match.
