Rashad is the next in line for a title shot he was supposed to fight Shogun but hurt himself and was replaced by Jones. Then he was supposed to fight Jones for the title but Bones got hurt Evans had to fight Ortiz and Rampage got a title shot, after the Tito rematch Dana said he gets the next shot. Evans is next.
He's not going to defend the title three times in one year...nobody's done that in recent years. Also the Evans fight may be delayed as they're both carrying injuries. Because of that I wouldn't rule out Henderson/Shogun winner having to fight somebody else before they get to Jones...indeed if Shogun wins I'd think it'd be a racing certainty.
I dont see anybody in mixed martial arts @205 or below giving Jon Jones " that much " to think about :deal That includes Anderson Silva Here is how i see Jones's run of defences shaping up ; Rashad Evans Machida / Davis winner After that is a blind guess who he will fight , the 205lb division is so competetive and un predicatble you dont know who's beating who , Machida Davis is fascinating , and will answer any questions we have about Lyoto's chances against Jones , if Davis goes in there and beats Machida at this young stage of his career it proves he's a potential elite fighter at the weight Shogun , Henderson , Rampage , Silva , Belfort , Franklin could all be in the mix , you just never know

I think the person who beats him will either wall n stall, or will be able to attack his legs successfully. The thing is the only guy I see on his potential lineup that really has a great leg attack is Shogun. Maybe he was rusty? He was totally dominated in a way that has never happened before. Barring injury I'm willing to call the first showing a bit of a fluke, Shogun seems to be the sort of guy who can game plan very well after he's seen an opponent once.. The thing that is crazy is how dominant Bones Jones was against Rua.. Hard to even give Rua a shot, but if history is an indicator of anything, you cant really sleep on him. He also has an incredibly dangerous matchup with Hendo.. The second you sleep on Hendo he knocks you out. Vs. Hendo, I think Jones just has too much reach advantage and has too much distance control for Hendo to ever really get anything off. There is no question what Hendo will do standing up, the whole world knows about his sneaky right hand, but the thing is he has to be in range to use it.. Jones would pick him apart from the outside and seal the deal with some gnp or sub, I imagine much like he did Rampage. Machida, likes to control the distance. Might be interesting to see this fight because we are talking about two fighters who rely heavily on controlling the distance and time at which there are exchanges. Jones has the advantage of reach. But if there is a guy who can catch you and buzz you out of nowhere it's Machida. This makes for an interesting fight.. Perhaps a game of chess, perhaps a game of checkers. Rashad, I think he looks to smother Jones. Wall n stall, and lay n pray all night. No real question as to his strategy in this fight. He's not going to want to trade standing, if at all it will be minimal to set up a shoot for Jones legs, single or double, otherwise he will lean on Jones against the cage and try to drag him down by the legs. If Davis happens to win. I think he just gets overwhelmed. Davis is a little too one dimensional. Unquestionably good wrestling, but he needs something to set that wrestling up against a guy who himself is a very good wrestler.
i think lyoto machida would be the biggest test for jon jones other than that everyone is on that list is going to just stand infront of jon jones and get ktfo.
