What the ****? Another strange turn of events!

I wonder if Alexander Gustafsson or Phil Davis were offered?

Davis should've got the shot IMO. He's not injured, nothing exciting up except PRado rematch and only loss to Evans....admittedly in dominant fashion.

This fight is a joke. Easy win for Jones. Can't believe Machida turned this fight down . Way worse than Jones turning the Sonnen fight down IMO.

To be fair, he has already fought Jones once on short notice, and I'm sure he simply wants to put in a full camp before giving it another shot.

Jones was turning down a smaller guy coming off a loss who has nothing to offer him stylistically. Machida is turning down the champion, a bigger guy who has already wasted him.

    You're a spastic.

This fight is a lot more interesting than a Machida rematch.

Two middleweights are willing to fight that bigger champion , one of them on a weeks notice and I'm a spastic because I believe Machida who is the number one contender to Jones should have taken the fight on a months notice?

Yeah I guess...maybe we will get a Dan Henderson vs Machida fight out of this whole mess.

  12. I understand Machida is a legitimate contender who earned the right to take his shot to take when he wants. It would be completely ******ed to take a fight now, he would want to wait and prepare until conditions are suited for a title shot. Vitor has nothing to lose taking on Jones.

ALso sonnen putting his hand up with 8 days notice shows what a great warrior the man is. He has made Jones look like an idiot turning it down, a decision move which will no doubt give jones penty of headache from now on.

I'd assume this fight will just be Jones taking him down with ease then elbowing him into oblivion on the ground.

I wish Jones would just fight Belfort on the feet. It makes the fight much more dangerous for him, but much more exciting for us. If I was Belfort I'd just explode from the first bell and try to knock Bones out. **** it, it's his best chance of winning.
