This is the logical next title fight to make at LHW, Oezdemir might have an argument because of the run he's been on but Gus is ranked higher and him and Jones have unfinished business. Who do you think would win?

Heart says Gus, Head says Jones... I'll go with my heart here.

Scored it 48-47 Gus every time that I've watched it. Gustafsson was taking the 4th as well before he got caught with the spinning elbow. Obviously Jones took 5 clearly because Gus was gassed/hurt and just pretty much held on and tried to coast to the cards.

I've only watched the fight in its entirety once and I scored the first 4 rounds to Gus then. I guess a case could be made the work Jones did in the last minute of round 4 eclipsed what Gus had done previously in the round...Interestingly enough many people think Jones won round 3 and I remember that being a good round for Gus.

Problem is people scored all of those blocked high kicks Jones threw... No dummies. Blocked strikes don't count. Gus won via cleaner boxing and overall striking in 1-3 no question. Also.. Interesting than Jones couldn't take him down in the 5th when he was gassed and badly hurt.

I just rewatched the 3rd round of the fight. There no logical basis for that round being scored to Jones. Gus was lighting him up with uppercuts, jabs to the body and head, and straight rights. The only damaging strike Jones landed in the round was a body kick 3 minutes in. Gus' shuffling lateral movement and ability to get in and out made Jones look slow and non-athletic. Terrible robbery, Jones knows he was bested that's why he turned down an instant rematch.

Jones easy decision maybe even late stoppage this time. Gus put in his best performance the 1st fight and probably hasn't improved that much if any since then, failing to win the title while Jon was away with a 3-2 record. Jones on the other hand was far from his best and still won, if he makes the necessary adjustments I cant see how Gus is supposed to win? While Jones was a little rusty early vs. Cormier he showed enough to indicate he is as dangerous as ever with much improved GNP.

Gus looked better than ever last time out vs teixera. He's the perfect stylistic foil to Jones, it's incredibly delusional to believe Jones would have an easy time with him.

Exactly. I think the majority feel Gus won that first fight. He'll light up Jones in the rematch and get him this time. Jones was getting tagged more this time by Cormier until that kick. I don't think he looked that impressive.

I wouldn't get to carried away with that performance had a lot more to do with how much slower Texeira is now then any Gustaffson improvement. While I think Jones will win more decisively this time, it obviously wont come easily for him if he fights like he did last time and Gus is at his best again. While I agree Gus matches up better with Jones then most he doesn't have the same weapons as Jones and will be hoping Jon isn't at his best again to have any hope. How do you see Gus beating Jon and is there anything he is better then Jones at?

Dude. Quit dredging up that BS excuse... Gus pushed Jones to the absolute limit and it had everything to do with how good of a fighter he is, not "Jones not being at his best" Only cuck fanboys subscribe to that nonsense.

Do you even watch these guys fight? Gus does things better than Jones and vice versa, they are different fighters. For one Gus' movement is leagues better than Jones', he made him look like a slow plodder lunging out of position to try and land strikes. His combination punching and overall striking fluidity is far greater than the guy who just spams the same very effective but basic techniques over and over again.

Jones wasn't at his best though! He wasn't in the right state of mind and/or he was partying too much! Seriously, that's the excuse Jones fanboys have when it comes to that fight. Sorry fanboy, Gus is just really good and a very bad style matchup for Jones.

I was in the minority of people who picked Gustafsson to score the upset.. Was pretty vocal about it and was ridiculed across several forums. "Gus doesn't stand a chance" "He's going to get destroyed inside a round or two" "Are you insane?" etc. After the fight the same people were trotting out that excuse.

The excuses and double standards you see from Jones fans is appalling.
