Why you getting so upset dude? Just because you don't like Jones doesn't make your opinion on the subject more valid then mine.Unlike you I have no issue giving Gus plenty of credit from the 1st fight in fact I say it was his best performance,I thought he would improve but I don't think he has .I just think Jones is capable of performing better then he did in that fight and will be looking to take him down more with his improved grappling and GNP. I just don't see what Gus does better then Jon,but time will tell and obviously anything can happen.
Do I watch these fights? lol Ive been make a living of watching these fights and other sports and havent needed to work for 15 years. I cant wait till I finally work out what I am doing
I'm upset because that excuse is total crap, it's been regurgitated on forums for years and has absolutely zero basis.... and takes away from how good of a fighter Gustafsson is. I see nothing but excuse ridden rhetoric in your posts.... Could Jones improve over that performance and beat Gustafsson without controversy in a rematch? Of course.. But Gustafsson gave him problems due to a combination of his skill and physical attributes. Full stop.
Ive never said Gus wasn't impressive in the 1st fight,Only a fool would say Gus didn't give Jones problems , I don't need to make excuses for the 1st fight he won a tough fight. I just think he can perform better then he did but if he doesn't he will get punished by Gus. Am I wrong in saying that Gus has been a little disappointing since that fight going 3-2?
A little. But those losses still need to be viewed in context.. Both to top 5 guys, and the other the #1 guy(in Jones absence) in another fight he almost won.
No I gave a reason for making my predictions and you clearly didn't like it and don't agree which is fine.I didn't criticise or get upset at anybody with different opinion to mine.FFS indeed
Though it was far from one side, I thought Jones edged the first mainly with leg/body kicks. 2 and 3 were easy to score for Gus. When I was watching the fight live, there was a point during the 4th that I thought "Jones is on the verge of losing 3 straight rounds and needs a finish." Then BOOM! That elbow landed and changed everything. Jones 4 and 5. 48-47 Jones
I think this is the fight to make if Jones isn't able to cash in against a heavyweight. Oezdemir is on a nice run but it feels like he is one fight away from a title shot, despite being currently ranked 3rd in the division.
Perhaps you shouldn't talk **** and call people names, its usually the first sign of having no idea what you talking about
I'm a pretty open minded guy but there's no way Jones won round 1. Gus landed the cleaner, more telling shots, defended all of Jones' takedowns and even managed to take him down towards the end of the round. Rounds 1-3 are very easy to score.
I disagree. I thought Jones landed more strikes when I watched it live, and FightMetric statistics support what I saw in round 1. Jones outlanded Gus 28-19 in significant strikes and in 2 of 3 categories, 8-4 to the body and 15-7 in leg kicks. Gus was up 8-5 in head strikes but the elbow landed by Jones at the end of the round was the biggest head shot landed in the round. http://blog.fightmetric.com/2013/09/jones-vs-gustafsson-official-ufc.html Unless I ignore the leg and body work put in by Jones, I can't find a way to give the first round to Gustafsson.
