Dawson is nearing the point of needing a KO...and while you might see an optimistic glimmer for him in both of Dickinson's losses coming by stoppage, you would be jumping the gun as they were down to cuts/swelling and injury respectively.

Dickinson is diving in, holding and putting the squeeze on Dawson, then launching outside and waiting to ambush him with high lead rights. Dawson is dropping in rights on the body and getting netted on Dickinson's arms, then gathering him into clinches as Dickinson hurtles into him bodily.

Round 8

Dickinson is starting to snap Dawson's head back with the chopping right hand behind the up-jab leaning in. Dickinson is bending over and letting Dawson push down at him with both arms. Dawson is reduced to wide body punches arced in slowly and limply from outside, reserving his strength for wrestling Dickinson off him to stem the boa constrictor tactics inside.

Round 9

Time out very early to fix glove tape. Time in. Dickinson is ducking and bobbing, moving cleverly around Dawson. BIG LEFT HOOK coming up from a crouch at medium-long range by Dickinson, spinning Dawson's head on its axis. Dawson somehow remains upright, and without even clinching. Instant recovery, although the door may now be ajar for Dickinson. They exchange jabs, both shuffling their feet inch by inch. Dawson is falling in with flip-up jabs from the waist and reach-in lead rights at shoulder level. Dickinson is blocking and turning into Dawson to let his punches slide over his back, tying up and shoving off strategically. Wide slaps at the body from Dawson, picking it up after the warning clap.

Round 10

Dickinson is floating around the lazy jabs of Dawson and lunging in with stiff jabs and short left hooks. Dawson is rocked. Right hands put in behind the lefts by Dickinson, pressing the bigger man across the ring. Dawson sags against the ropes, butt depressing the middle one, and is given a count by Phil Edwards just before sliding down onto the canvas. Dawson straightens out his legs but Edwards dislikes his look.
