Saunders digs a hard left hook, clipping Prince in half and dropping him. Prince is up and flurrying back at him, looking to wrap his arm round Saunders' backside and swat up at his face. Another big hook on the body, Prince down again. Prince comes rushing in making a last stand. One more body hook. The corner of Prince swiftly enters the ring in unison to save him from himself.

Saunders improves to 9-0 (7).

Not a bad showing for his developmental level and factoring in the quality of the opponent.

 

"Prince of Passion" actually came in with passing fair credentials even aside from the near-miss with Limond.

Shutouts over premiere journeymen like Buckley and Hamidi, dropped Seawright a couple times, and blasted out Mitev in a hurry (Mitev of course being no great shakes but someone who is stopped infrequently and never that fast)

Stuart Hall vs. Martin Ward, 12 rounds @ bantamweight

 

If he brings the same fire as when he fought Malinga, this should be a dominant first defense for Stuey, likely by stoppage.

 

Round 1

Hall is walking down Ward, forcing the jab into his midsection and backing him up by the ropes. Hall backs out and tilts his upper body away from the counter right jab of the southpaw. Body jabs by Hall, following with right crosses down the pipe on the face of Ward as he lengthens his step in retreat. Ward is keeping a wide base, ducking and rising, trying to time Hall's left jab with his right. Hall is swaying back to dodge the jab and then rubber-banding in, keeping the pressure on. Body thrust by Ward circling against the ropes. Combination up and down by Hall, landing heavily below the elbows. Ward fights off the ropes with high straight flurries. Ward is cut by the right eye.

Hall pounds on him. Big hooks on the body. Stopped on the cuts.
