    Hopefully you will get a decent reception on freeview - watching it online is a good back-up though.

    Agree - seems this will be another hard fight for Thaxton. Romanov credits Melero for giving him his toughest fight - he had Romanov down before he came back and stopped him. Apparently he is a very adaptable fighter, fast and accurate, can fight and box on the move.

    I'll be rooting for Thaxton as always but think realistically he is up against it and a factor could be the almost predictable cuts he tends to suffer. Would be an excellent result if he wins tonight.

    can someone tell me who else is fighting on this card, looking forward to seeing thaxton again he wears his heart on his sleeve that guy

    i will be watching this now that aa marquez is off

    Some guy called Aleksejs Kosobokov, in a 6 rounder.

    Herbie Hide's been a pro for 20 years and has fought the very best. If this is the level he's at, he should call it a day in my opinion. At this rate he will never be ready for even the likes of Enzo Macc.

    This is just a 'keep busy' fight for Herbie. He's highly ranked by the WBC and WBO so expect him to get a title shot soon.

    They have all been "keep busy" fights for Hide. In fact the vast majority of Hide's whole career has been made up of pushover "keep busy" fights.

    That's how he has such a spectacular KO record and such a flattering rating by the governing bodies. The only meaningful fight he is likely to take is a big money showdown, where he'll get knocked out and will retire.......until the money runs out.

    true it is a stupid choice to fight a guy of this caliber...he has done it before and lost.


    but i think it's more of a homecoming event more than anything else.
    yeah he has been fighting pushovers but he has passed merits to work off. so people are willing to fight him he just needs to keep winning. so that wbo title comes to light

    Herbie is badly faded, you can read him like a book and see him loading up 2 minutes before he throws a punch. He no longer has that bounce and movement. He should just retire but having blown all his dosh he needs ££££££.

    Herbie will do ok in the cruiserweight division. The opposition is hardly threatening, just mediocre Eastern European bottlers and the odd short fat yank. Only Alexeev is worth talking about with any hope.
