To take a dive to purposely lose this fight in exchange of money!!

We can read between the lines and only an idiot will refute it!!!

IT IS IRREFUTABLE IF YOU WATCH THE FIGHT THAT IT WAS A FIXED FIGHT IN FAVOR OF MITCHELL!!

    LOL.

Go to a gym and put on some gloves and learn a little bit about what you're talking about.

I certainly won't argue with people who may suggest Banks was bunged an envelope after that performance.

People that post that kind of crap have no idea of the economics involved.

If Banks wins that fight, he's got a major six-figure payday coming ... against the Fury-Haye winner or someone else -- and after that, even if he loses, there are a couple of more major paydays that he'll get from staying viable for beating Mitchell twice.

So if Seth Mitchell is no better than he is, why would Haymon or GDP or whoever pay him AT LEAST a half a million to make it worth his while? Because Mitchell is never going to profit anyone that much ... even if he gets a title shot, Haymon gets like 10 percent.

    Do the math.

I wouldn't be shocked, I think Wlad sitting ringside can finally say that his fight with Ibragimov wasn't the biggest HW snoozefest

It was strange that Banks didn't seem to very much want to win.

But I've seen him become passive and stop throwing in the past, his stamina isn't very good.

he was more pushed than dropped by a punch

imagine watching Wlad-Ibragimov, but with even less punches thrown, Banks had Mitchell on ***** street at the end of the 3rd, also, both looked pretty gassed after the 5th, other than that, it was one of the worst fights and least amount of punches i've ever seen

Mitchell was badly hurt on queers street and almost got Ko'ed, then Banks follows that round with 2 minutes without a punch trown and very few until the end of the fight.

Absolutely correct, you have to wonder what on earth was going on in Banks mind, I cant think of many fighters who would not have come out throwing Bombs after the break, Mitchell had no legs at the end of the round, 2 or 3 clean punches and the fight was over.

I guess we must all draw our own conclusions as to why Banks would do that.

Mitchell wins. Wlad sits ringside. Wlad beat Povetkin. Wlad gives a young American heavyweight named Mitchell a shot, in America, on HBO or Showtime, with Wlad pulling in millions...of course Wlad won't walk away with all the money. He has to pay his taxes, fees, people, managers, sparring partners...and trainers. :think

Of course Wlad will destroy Mitchell, but Mitchell can always bounce back by taking a rubbermatch with Banks. :think

And Mitchell's people (Haymon) surely recognize that his time is limited. Maybe they can make a deal with a fighter to lose to Mitchell so that Mitchell can cash in with a title shot? :think

Banks was pushed over, though Mitchell landed some good hard shots throughout the fight. Most were at least partially blocked but they were powerful as hell.

At least 3 separate occasions Banks opened up. You can tell he's doing this because he throws both hands in combinaton and really heaves his back into the punches. You can also tell because Mitchell looks like Amir Khan every time Banks opens up. So then Banks would back off and let him recover. It wasn't as if Banks was tired, this started in round 3. It looked like a sparring session where one fighter has been told to take it easy on the other guy and not destroy his confidence. During the last minute or more of the fight, Banks didn't throw a single powershot. He basically jabbed his way through the fight, if 5 jabs a round counts. At one point he accidentally hurt Mitchell with a jab and then started throwing it mostly to the body.

I've never seen a fight that I would confidently say was thrown before, but this fight was thrown. The economics line up, it makes sense, and the fight LOOKED like it was being thrown for chrissake. There were multiple occasions where you could see Banks perplexed as to how he was supposed to lose the round since he kept accidentally hurting Mitchell.
