The fight wasn't fixed...Banks was tired/not that good to begin with/hurt by Mitchell body shots. I agree it was a **** fight, but to say it was "fixed" is ****** ****...

Apart from the 3rd, Banks landed 40 punches over the remaining 11 rounds. Thats 3.6 per round, its clear it was fixed.

according to Tom Loeffer of K2, Banks hurt his left hand in the 1st round, and his right hand in the 2nd...

"I did hear from Johnathon today. Apparently, when he got back to Detroit, they diagnosed both of the middle knuckles of both hands as being fractured. So that was unusual to have both hands injured in a fight like that."

Where is the proof? I can assume all day, but I need proof because I see no benefit in letting Mitchell win when he can't beat either K brother.

yeah i thought the story of a broken hand(s) was well distributed.

of course if the fight was thrown, that would be a great cover story....

Yes. GBP has gotten Mitchell back on track by Mitchell "avenging" his loss. So what if he has no chance? Who does? It's a payday and if there's enough on the table, they'll take it just like anyone else. We already know Wlad wanted to fight Mitchell, likely in the US. Wlad said it himself that the plan was derailed when Banks KO'd Mitchell. Wlad has been feasting in Germany 5+ years now and IMO needs to fight again in the US to raise his exposure. So it benefits K2 and GBP that Banks lost.

Besides, what did K2 seriously plan for Banks.....for him to win over Mitchell again, line him up for a shot to fight Wlad? C'mon we know that's not going to happen. As long as Wlad is around, there's nowhere for Banks to go. He's better off just "training" Wlad and riding his gravy train.

It's the same thing as Ustinov. Ustinov was getting up there in line to fight Vitali, so they put him in with Pulev to get him out of the line since that would make no money. Now K2 is going to put him in with Tua and either Tua wins and is quickly on the short list to get a shot at Vitali, an easy defense that add a "name" to his resume in the eyes of some (not me), or Ustinov moves back up the list to maybe fight for a vacant belt if Vitali retires. Both scenarios benefit K2.

No offense intended but nobody expects Banks' people to say "Yup, totally threw that one. What." My brother knows me like a brother, but even he'd tell you I'd throw a fight for a couple million bucks a few months down the road, ESPECIALLY if I was in position for a rematch anyway.

Fact is that the economics (Wlad vs. Mitchell followed by Mitchell-Banks III after Mitchell recovers from his beating) and the fight itself (Banks clearly dominant yet refusing to even punch) point toward a thrown fight. It just makes sense for all involved.

If Banks did in fact break his hand, then that's all the explanation anyone needs. I've broken my hand and there's no way I'd be hitting someone with it broken. The thing is, I feel like if he had broken his hand you'd be saying so, he'd be saying so, etc. If that was the case, then a third fight would make a lot of sense.

    :rofl :rofl

Yeah, I believe this! Sure !

Sadly, even though the whole world knows what really happened, they'll probably get away with this BS. I mean, who's really going to complain? Banks? He got paid.

I bet the bookies are really pissed off, though.

    No.

With the stakes as high as they are (the reputation of K2, among others) it would be perfectly reasonable for them to just pay off some doctor, and have him display someone else's x-rays.

No "proof" is needed, and none will be accepted. We all saw the fight.

This is like David Haye claiming his toe was bothering him, yet in the 12th round he was literally leaping in the air off that same toe.

    Mama didn't raise no fool.

Just watch the fight again. there is absolutely ZERO indication of a problem with either of bank's hands. None. Besides, if his hands HAD been hurt, he would have still thrown light shots, to score points, but he didn't even do that.

You really think they would do that? It's not going to happen. Wlad claimed injury a 2nd time against Chisora, provided no proof....then signed to fight Haye like within the week.

This is nothing more than damage control from Loeffler. CHEF (who knows Banks like a brother as he says) mentioned nothing of broken hands, and he was there as part of the team. He said after the fight, they were all sitting around talking "trying to figure out what happened". That right there gives no credibility to the broken knuckles excuse. Everyone would have known (before the fight was over) that Banks had injured hands, there'd be little to discuss. The only discussion was probably, "how are we going to damage control this loss?"

Funny how Banks postponed the fight because of a hand injury because he didn't want excuses for losing or not being 100%, and yet he loses and excuses come out anyway from K2.
