Part of the New Year's Day heavyweight triple-header on Fox PPV. Rice upset Polite-Coffie on the Dirrell vs. Brooker undercard in July. Polite-Coffie, a former U.S. marine and before 2021 himself an obscure 6'5" mid-thirties American heavyweight just like Rice (staying undefeated in contrast with Rice, but arguably facing significantly lesser opposition), had only recently elevated his profile in January with his own upset of Darmani Rock. *Quintuple-header, actually Viktor Viktorovich Vykhrist vs. Iago Kiladze Gerald Marcus Washington vs. Ali Eren Demirezen this one Frank Sánchez Faure vs. Carlos José Negrón Colón Luis Ortíz vs. Charles Lee Martin
I expect Rice to win again. The sparring with Michael Hunter definitely helped him a lot. Washington vs Demirezen is pretty interesting. I have Ali as the favorite in the fight.
Only seen clips from the first fight but looks like @Dubblechin was right and Coffie is mostly dangerous in the clinch or inside but is otherwise pretty useless. Big Jonny to stop him again.
Frank Sánchez Faure vs. Carlos José Negrón Colón is off the card, replaced with a super featherweight 8-rounder (Maliek Dawnell Montgomery vs. Ángel Silverio Luna Custodio).
Rice couldn't miss Coffie with a handful of rice last time He was very precise It was literally target practice whenever he let his hands go He's fixing on cooking up another beating for Coffie This content is protected
True! And, actually, that's not suprising. Abell wasn't missing against Coffie, either, when the two had fought earlier . Joey's arm came unglued - and that was that - but the signs weren't promising for Coffie.
They have named Christian Hammer as the replacement opponent. Hammer is not easy work - and it's really hard to look good against him - but the miles are starting to pile up.
Coffie is a huge guy, an in shape 270lbs, and he hits really hard but he stops everything you throw at him with his face
Expect rice to win....coffie didn't seem to know what to do to get near him last tim and rice landed that right all night....rice ko again for me
