Hopkins ahead of Jones. Roy Jones crumbled like a house of cards after what Tarver did to him. He wasn't shot, he wasn't ancient. He folded. Confidence: gone. Roy Jones had a lot of flash, tremendous athleticism, but he doesn't get extra points for beating the opposition he faced fashionably. Bernard Hopkins has endured piling up impressive performances and credible wins throughout his entire career. Unlike Roy Jones. I give two shits about behind the back knockouts and blazing hand speed and balletic genius. I even like Hopkins better as an overall combat sports athlete. Brilliant offense, brilliant defense, and textbook fundamentals to go along with some of the most intelligent, cunning, economic, and precise "execution" ever seen inside a boxing ring. That against Roy's entertainment. Substance over style.

I like Roy too...but starting to think that Hopkins overtakes him.

Of course Roy is one of the greatest H2H P4P fighters ever but in terms of other things like achievements, longevity and the way he loss in his latter years bring him down a few notches.

A juiced and primed Jones Junior was something special.

When he stopped taking the powershakes he was exposed as a slack jawed yokel.

I don't like ranking drug cheats hence he doesn't make my top 50 unfortunately.

Hopkins might scrape top 100. Hard to rank someone who has built a career on beating up little guys, and resorting to foul play when he faces a real challenge, any higher.

Just my opinion don't go whacking one off in the woodshed or anything now.

Their both just behind Joe Calzaghe in the ATG stakes.
It should be Jones above Hopkins but Jones has that PEDs scandal surrounding his career.

    :deal

H2H sugar ray robinson would not beat him at middleweight or super middle, Hearns against Jones would be interesting while it lasted.

For me Hopkins ranks higher because of his dedicated to the sport, his constant quest for self improvement sees him still hanging with the very best at age 46.
Roy purely relied on his natural gifts and had no dedication whatsoever to evolve his style.

Hopkins is greater and to me it isn't even close.

Jones resume is very good and could POSSIBLY be rated above Calzaghes but for Jones ATG standing it shouldnt be forgotten that Jones is a proven cheater

based on resume AND THE FACT THAT JONES IS A KNOWN CHEAT. Now that means the 2 things combined that puts Calzaghe above Jones and Hopkins.

The names you want on Calzaghes resume that assist in his ATG rankings above the 2 mentioned - Jones Jnr and Hopkins :D

Since Saturday, every time I try to decide on who deserves to be higher between Roy and B-Hop I come up with a different answer. This time, I'm saying Roy. :good
