What's with all this talk about Jones beating Calzaghe? Jones is shot to **** let's be realistic.. I'm a big Jones fan but come on now he should have put Trinidad down and out within 4 rounds. The man that has the best chance to beat Calzaghe and who in fact I think will beat him is Chad Dawson. Let me explain why. For one he's a Southpaw. When wsa the last time that Calzaghe even faced a southpaw let alone a southpaw with the skill that Dawson has? Also Dawson is bigger then Calzaghe, Just as fast with his hands, just as fast with his movements, and has very underated power. But the biggest thing is Dawsons body attack. Calzaghe isn't gonna be so active when he has Dawson digging into his body. I honestly can't see Calzaghe beating Dawson at all. What do you guys think? And if you think Calzaghe can beat him please explain why.

If anybody beats Joe Calzaghe, it'll be Chad Dawson.

i think JC takes it because of his constant workrate. He wont let dawson rest for a second. I dont think he will hurt dawson much but he will out point him.

Agreed.. Dawson would be a lot tougher for Calzaghe than Pavlik..

I think JCs constant workrate is whats gonna get him beat, That will leave him open and Chad Dawson has great hand speed himself and a great uppercut so i dont think Calzaghe should jump in on him.

Dawson ? What the **** has Chad Dawson done to deserve a shot at Calzaghe. Kessler would kill him, Bernard would dismantle him - why should Joe even consider him ?

Is this the same Dawson we saw last week losing to Johnson, Who Woods beat, who Tarver just destroyed, who Hopkins demolished, who Calzaghe just beat ?

    Explain ?

Chad Dawson is the ****in champion you dip****! Kessler is to straight up and down and basic to beat Dawson, Bernard is too old at this time so try again buddy. Dawson beat Johnson for your information. And Tarver didn't "destroy" Clinton Woods, What fights are you watching???

I'd favor Calzaghe because of his pressure and superior defense to Dawson, who is far too easy to hit for someone with his ability.

Still, Dawson's right hooks up and downstairs would trouble Joe tremendously, as he approaches square and is there to be hit with those combinations. Along with that, Dawson will be able to punch with Calzaghe for speed, and he hits harder, IMO, along with a 3.5-inch reach advantage.

But for experience and toughness and chin, I have to go with Calzaghe via UD.

Agreed. Calzaghe/Pavlik doesn't excite me at all.

    I agree too

Doesn't excite me either. Calzaghe would whitewash Pavlik

    Definitely.

Dawson has the height, reach, speed, and technical skills to give Calzaghe all he can handle. Calzaghe's relentless pressure and quick body-head combinations would trouble Dawson as well, who doesn't exactly have Mayweather-esque defense. Close fight at this point. I'd probably favor Calzaghe in a nip-and-tuck affair if it happens before 2009. Anytime after and I'd be worried about Clazaghe's fading speed and reflexes when matched with an improving/more experienced Dawson.

Pavlik would be a walk in the park for Calzaghe. Just the perfect style for him to look good against and that's all there is to it.

Why not? Both are exciting both throw tons of punches around. one has power the other has speed. Makes for a great fight.

Why don't you think so? Pavlik's straight forward. Calzaghe loves to fight guys who come straight forward.
