well if calzaghe wanted to prove something that he was good enoughtto get in the ring with hopkins all he had to do was go to america and fight someone and call out hopkins, but that never happenned, in the end hopkins was the one that called calzaghe out, and ordered him to come to america and get his beating, which he got. If calzaghe wanted the fight all he had to do was publically call hopkins out, hopkins is from philly, they never back out from a fight. calzaghe is the one who ducked hopkins.
Odds aren't predicated on any objective criteria about the expectations on the outcome of the fight. They are predicated on the expectation of the betting habits of the people that bet on fights. And in your case, it is apparently effective.
so basically all you've got is... hopkins and calzaghe didn't fight in the early part of the decade and i don't like calzaghe so i'll assume it was calzaghe avoiding the bout despite the written testimony by jay larkin.
if calzaghe wanted the fight then all he had to do was agree to the demands. if calzaghe won he would have made more out of the fight (talking about future opponents) then if hopkins won because hopkins was seen as the better fighter. and 6mil for a fight aint much, hopkins got more from the trinidad fight, and trinidad was seen as the better fighter there.
I certainly don't see a TKO coming from either man but I do believe RJJ has saved one last oustanding performance to close off his career ! Jones will beat Calzaghe at his own game (speed). He'll connect effectively countering all night as Joe is trying to flash a little with his non stop slappy combos... RJJ is gonna humble Enzo's arrogant ass..After the fight, you'll hear Enzo trying to sell the fact that Joe lost to one of the best ATGs...it was an honor to be in the same ring...and blablabla !
I really like Joe Calzaghe, but can't stand Enzo. Therefore Roy should fight Enzo - and shut the **** up.
Jones had better be putting in road work like he has NEVER done before if he even hopes to have a prayer in this one. This will probably come down to stamina.
jones doesnt have enough left to fight at the pace calzaghe fights for a full 3 minutes a round there may be flashes of brilliance he wont be able to sustain it...joe wont outbox him he'll just outwork him
