Wow! I did not expect this when watching the fight. I heard it was a blowout after the 1st round. I strongly disagree (at least through the 7th round where I currently am at)...

    My card reads:

    Round 1: Jones 10-8 Clearly
    Round 2: Jones 10-9 Close
    Round 3: Calzaghe 10-9 Clearly
    Round 4: Calzaghe 10-9 Clearly
    Round 5: Jones 10-9 Close
    Round 6: Calzaghe 10-9 Close
    Round 7: Calzaghe 10-9 Close

    Through 7: 66-66 tie

Did anyone else see the fight similarly through 7? Rounds 2,5,6,7 are all rounds which could be ruled either way IMO.

    Round 1 - Jones
Rounds 2-12 - Jones getting his ass kicked (can also be described as Jones getting humiliated, whooped, smoked, embarrassed, toyed with, etc.)

One of the more enjoyable fights I've watched in a while.

I wouldn't say 5,6,7 were close. Calzaghe took them clearly enough. God especially 7.

1 and 2 for Jones is fair enough.

I would agree i thought the first half was real close the cut for me was the deciding factor in the fight

Round 8...RJJ was winning the first 2:30 for me...But Calzaghe ended up winning this round clearly with his tirade in the last 30 seconds.

Damn even the first round if it wasnt for the knock down it would be def Calzaghes round. Roy Jones couldnt win 1 round in this fight.

You really believe that rounds 2 and 5 were CLEARLY calzaghes round? Are you being serious?

Thank God I don't judge fights. The only rounds i gave jones outside round 1 were 2 and 5.

I agree with your scoring of the first 7 rounds.
Roy took rnd 1,2 & 5.. Calzaghe the rest of the rnds.
Also may add that round 2 & 5 were close as you say too..

Early on it was closer than most people made it out in my opinion. Calzaghe threw a lot of 5,6,7,8 punch flurrys where every shot landed on gloves. I was a bit dissapointed by his inability to land flush when Jones was completely stationary, but eventually those barrages to the guard of Jones started to take their toll and when Jones showed he was simply unable to respond, those blocked punches went from being blocked punches, to effective aggression on Calzaghe's part.

Woodhall for Setanta had Jones winning 4 rds, and i agree with him. Joe offered his chin unprotected many times and eat leather for it, then flurried innefectively against Jones guard.

    The scoring was dodgy.

If you give more than three rounds to Jones, than you probably are not counting Calzaghe's effective work to the body. He was really digging in beneath Roy's ribs with the right hand. Besides the cut that was the biggest factor in Calzaghe's win.
