Nonsense. Moore fought as heavy as 206 1/2 while still subsequently moving down to defend the light heavyweight championship. He weighed over 195 for fights at least a dozen times while continuing to drop back down to defend his light heavyweight title, before he finally relinquished it in the early '60s once he couldn't make weight anymore.

There were no "versions" of the heavyweight title then. If there had been four "world championship" belts in THAT era, a couple of which were held by the likes of John Ruiz, Moore would have easily obtained a "version" of the heavyweight title. Conversely, if there were only ONE "world title" belt in Jones' era, which belonged to the best fighter in the world (eg. Lennox Lewis), Jones would never have had a sniff at becoming world heavyweight champion.

Does not change the fact that Moore did so all the time at an even higher age while having success.

The fact remains, that Jones had to lose a lot of soild muscle mass.

I doubt that Moore had to drop a load of soild muscle. There in lies a fundemental differece between the two.

Moore consistently came down from 195+ pounds to 175 pounds when they had day of the fight weigh ins. Jones couldnt do it once. Moore did it often.

after fighting marciano for the heavy weight title and losing, more defended the Lt Heavy weight tite 3 time and regained it once I believe and in between that time defended and regain the title he never once broke the 200+ mark once before competing only as a heavy weight for good.

so no more never fluctuated over 200+ during that time and he mainly fought as a heavy weight , during that time the heaviest moore ever got was 201 , and that happen once ..

Who talked about 200 pounds? Nobody. Fact is Moore held the lhw title for 10 years but went up to hw to fight something around 50+ fights and dropped down after each to defend his title.

Thank you for making my BS clear.

There were no Versions...just the One and Only World Champ. Something Jones was not at any wieght.

It's worth noting that Roy started out at 154 whilst Moore started at 160, too.

But it's likely that these two men had very different body compositions. They were also very different fighters, Moore style gave itself over to a lower energy performance as a general rule - the man could knock you out with his eyes, feet, scar tissue...
