One is not like the others.... Too Tall Jones was a much better athlete than the two stiff, uncoordinated, and career-challenged mentioned in the same breath. He was personally committed to making a run at being a "real" fighter and it showed. The other two were just sideshow attractions being hustled by proomoters on name value alone. If you would've seen Jones fight and not known he was a Dallas Cowboy, you would've thought to yourself "If he keeps working and does----------, then he might become somebody before its' all over".
my cousin is about 10 years older than me, (early 40s) his young prime was in the 80s, and he was a good football player, never really a boxing fan, but watched Tyson and all....the other day he mentioned Gastineau...it took me a minute to remember who he was.
quality ref work..should have been a knock down after Mark was hanging on the ropes the first time..having said that..fight would have been over either way. Highsmith actually looks pretty decent...
i agree with this. too tall was much better than highsmith and then gastineau was a complete joke. highsmith worked hard but started too late. with that said, he gave a good account of himself.
There's a huge gap between the two. Highsmith looks like he acatully took the sport serously. He was never going to win a championship though.
Was Gastineau actually any good at American Football? He's a big guy and well put together but he doesn't appear blessed with athleticsm or coordination particularly.
