Interestingly enough after watching the entire fight, I think RJJ could have won a UD if he hadn't been knocked out. He was winning the 10th round. It would have been a split decision.

But consider the fact that it was in Russia, they'd probably have given it to Lebedev. Fact of the matter is, Roy is too old to take that much punishment. His body clearly gave out, he clearly wasn't in fighting shape to go for 10 rounds and he apparently hit the wall.

 

I liked the ref's stoppage. Sick of today's BS stopagges.

 

Sad to see Roy Jones still boxing. Roy Jones was done at least 8 years ago. A prime Roy Jones would have taken this guy out with ease.

 

Glass Jaw on a fast moving stick pot shotting definitely harder to hit than the same Glass Jaw on a slower moving one.

I'd have counted, but on the TV screen, where the views better, its clear he tripped over Roy's foot.

No knockdown, and it'd have been unfair if itd have been called on Denis, he tripped, not the punches doing. He did render it rather academic shortly thereafter, though.

Roy needs to stop fighting. Thats the worst of his violent concussions yet, and they are starting to add up. Another knockout like that, and things in the next few years could become very dire for him.

 

Fighting at your heaviest weight at an advanced age is not a recipe for success. Jones jr. is obviously financially set and does not need to fight. It's very sad. I think he is inevitably going to suffer the same fate as Meldrick Taylor. He is taking way too much punishment.

 

This surely means he deserves a rematch. I had Jones, Jr. up 11 rounds to nothing.
