I think it would be a good fight for later in the year, possibly a farewell fight for both....While many may insist that Bernard is the better fighter currently I'm not so sure this is the case..
Fact of the matter is Jones fought the tougher competition, suffered a few devastating KO loses as opposed to Bernards close decisions to Taylor
If anything I feel Jones would win a rematch for many of the same reasons he won in 93, superior speed, reflexes and intelligence...
Both at this stage have ok stamina..but I would give the nod to Jones here as well....
I'm not sure I understand how Jones is completely written off on here:think

I think it would be a great fight
    Jones by UD close
    Your thoughts:think

Well, i think it all depends on how Hopkins looks against Calzaghe. If Hopkins beats Calzaghe, i have to go with Hopkins.

what the hell who voted for jones

seriously guys, Bhop would annihalate jones at this point in their careers. Hopkins still has loads left, Roy has hardly anything.

I cant believe a win over a shot Trinidad fighting at a ridiculous weight makes people think that Jones is back.

Remmeber this is the guy who got ktfo by journeymen Tarver and JOhnson, who hopkins dominated both.

    Seriously.

What if he looks ok and catches Joe with a lucky punch and puts him out?

I think RJJ has a chance to pot shot his way to a UD as Hopkins is perfectly fine with not throwing a lot either. But if you look at the level of competition each have faced RECENTLY, Hopkins wins by a landslide. You would think that he would have to be the favorite heading into the fight. But i think that RJJ has as good a chance as Hopkins of winning if you ask me. Styles make fights right? I think RJJ's style fits well for a minimal worker like Hopkins.

Yea I cant believe people think Hopkins has anything left after struggling against a less threatining WW named Winky Wright..realized right off the bat he was going to have problems and charged in with his head and cut his ass and still struggled his way to an umimpressive victory:deal

RJJ wins this, to much speed and athleticism, equal ring smarts, to many angles..Nard will back to ropes inviting RJJ in, RJJ will win a points victory quite easily. RJJ lost on KO's to Tarver/Johnson..nards not going to KO him....Tarver rematch was a sleeper, yet, he could perfomr much the same way and still beat Nard....

FIRST! Do some research, Wright was a Jr MW...not a WW (hasnt fought at WW since 93???) at his best. They were fighting 3 classes above that (essentially it was about 2 1/2)..which accurately was 2 classes above Hopkins prime weight. They were 1 class in difference...this Wright was blown up and Hopkins wasnt bs is exactly that. Get the weight issue out of your conscience, its ridiculous.

Second, Hopkins CLEARLY beat him, something no man has done in over a decade.

Third, Wright is a high output, defensive genius with a fantastic jab, his whole style is made to make the other guy look bad (please name ONE fighter over the past 10 years who looked good vs him....ya cant). Hopkins tho, was able to hit him at a very good % and actually wobbled him late (again, something NOONE has seen in a decade).

These Calzaghe fanatics (Im a fan of Joes...BUT...there is a difference) are killing me.

    10/1/2005 Loss vs Tarver UD!!!

So Tarver can UD Roy but Bernard cant???

Listen, both Roy and Bernard are two of my three favorite fighters EVER (Whitaker being the other one)...but you guys are just DELUSIONAL!

I'm sorry SWW Winky....It's hardly dellusional when you look at their most recent performances...Hopkins looked sloppy plain and simple against a much smaller fighter he should've controlled...Jones showcased the fact that he still has the speed, reflexes, and overall ring intelligence.....Bernard would be owned again by his former nemesis:deal
