Jones reflexes are diminished, timing off, handspeed slower (but still fast for his age), his legs are gone -- and his punch resistance is worst than ever. He is ******ed now, like Holyfield.

He's lucky Joe has pillow fist, he didn't even deserve to be in the same ring as Calzaghe, not at this point in his career. He's done nothing since getting KTFO by Tarver. Jones being so damn egotistical thought he could lose that much muscle quickly and be ok. He mangaed to squeak a victory from Tarver and at the end of the fight he said he either will fight tyson and if that doesn't come off he is done and retired. Yet his stupid ass went on to fight again, probably made some excuse for the loss. Not smart at all. He should've pulled a Lenox Lewis.

And believe me, Jones was and is one of my favorite fighters all time. But that still doesn't mean I don't have to talk about him. lol And no he didn't have a glass jaw, but for Calazghe to hit him as much as he did and not KO this shot to pieces Jones, was amazing in imo -- not in the good way.

actually, prime for prime, id say roy and Joe are very comparible..Hard to hit, fast hand/feet, and great ring generalship.. calzaghe used to have GREAT power earlier in his career, and with his workrate wouldve provided a great/close fight imo..

The whole Calzaghe-Jones fight was a fraud in the first place. Calzaghe knew that Jones was absolutely finished because he used to say it on more than one occasion. In fact he even wrote it in his autobiography "No Ordinary Joe". In the book he said not only was Jones finished, but he was not a worthy opponent anymore due to his brutal ko losses to Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver years before. Since their fight had been signed and took place and until now, Calzaghe has been going around saying that Jones was still great in order to make himself look good. Jones may be delusional, but at least he's not the liar Calzaghe is.

Jones had better punch resistance back when he was in his prime. He took a legit heavyweights best shots, who floored many other fighters much bigger than Roy.

It would be a good fight, but honestly I don't see how Joe could beat him. I'm just being honest. Yea Joe can beat the crap out of him now... but so could any real top rated guy.

Rick Thornberry and David Starie both went the distance with Calzaghe before his hand problems. Both of these guys had been stopped previously buy domestic/European level fighters.

But you said Calzaghe had "GREAT" power. His may have good power but i would hardly call it "GREAT". I think his resume backs up my opinion.

Calzaghe's greatest victory was over Mikkel Kessler.Jeff Lacey is a never was,Hopkins was 43 and had lost before previously 2 times at middleweight to Jermaine Taylor, and many still believe Hopkins won against Calzaghe(I personally don't) and Eubank was done. Jones, on the other hand, beat a prime 28 year old Hopkins far more convincingly than Calzaghe edged the 43 year old version. Jones also beat a prime Toney and prime undefeated Griffen as well as Hill.He also beat an older but still effective Mike McCallum, who was still fighting guys like Toney close at that time.Calzaghe was very good, but he would have had more credibility if he had fought better fighters and didn't lie as he did concerning Jones.

Jones Jr has always shown his big ego. Calzaghe was beating him before the cut as well. By the way it has been long ago since Jones Jr stopped someone.
