He almost KOed him in 2008 and probablly would have had he stepped it up so why cant I believe he would or could not stop him in 1998 for example.
i don't know how badly he hurt calzaghe, but he was certainly ****ing shocked by the hit (i almost got ****ing jumped at the fight as i was surrounded by 200 drunken welsh and cheering for jones but when he scored that knockdown i went ape****!)
listen pal, you will know more about boxing than i ever will. however i think calzaghe would always cause problems for jones. jones never got tested in his prime (though you would have expected hopkins and toney to have done), however i feel calzaghe is in your face, hard to hit, and a proper pressure fighter, with a great chin. i think he tests jones jnr even when he was in his prime. i think through his own ordinary resume that calzaghe's talents will always be under-estimated.
sorry jimmie, to say joe didn't lose any power in his career is plain wrong. if you watched joe throughpout his career, it was completely noticable.
I know you're an idiot who's not going to like the way this thread turns out. RJJ does whatever he wants to him for as long as he wants to, stops him if he feels like it but most likely cruises to a very lopsided UD.
maybe you should look at jones career and the fighters he didn't ko first. roy knocked hin down with a forearm, then got used for a punch bag for the 11 rounds after. if he really hurt joe, do you think a round later (was it 2?) that joe would stand with his hands down and put his face in roys guard (hands down), and sit smiling at him?
Power exploits a poor chin, not workrate. Calzaghe is the last fighter I would associate the word "power" with, except when I say "lack of power". Jones at his peak at 168 was simply too good for anyone else at the weight. Calzaghe would be reluctant to throw as much as he does when he's getting hit at will with both hands, from all angles, with devastating power.
yeah, unlike postmen Bernard Hopkins, James Toney and John Ruiz, all of whom would crush Joe C. to a fine powder, all of whom RJJ toyed with. You guys, you just don't get it when it's right in front of your face, do you? RJJ clowned elite HOF fighters. Clowned them like they were helpless children. You think JOE CALSLAPPY would be some kind of trouble to that man in his prime? You're ****ing ridiculous, and you have to know it. Nobody's that stupid.
So if Jones "Prime Opponents" were Taxi Drivers and Postmen...WHAT WERE CALZAGHE'S PRIME OPPONENTS...DISHWASHERS AND LANDSCAPERS????
