Roy Jones is last in skills dude. He was pure athleticism, a physical freak. When that went his boxing ability, or lack of it was shown up. Hopkins is the most skilful and will have the best legacy. In head to head mythical matchups I'd put it Jones-Calzaghe-Hopkins

Talent, H2H Ability Skills in their Primes:

    Jones

    Hopkins

    Calzaghe

    Legacy/Career Greatness/P4P All-Time Standing:

    Hopkins/Jones

    Calzaghe

There is one guy here who just doesn't fit. This thread is the mw/smw/lhw equivalent of me asking who had the most talent and who was the greatest between Muhammad Ali, George Foreman and Ken Norton. All three may be HOF, but obviously only two are ATG.

Calzaghe beat a prime Hopkins, dont make the retarted he was over 40 argument because if that wasn't his prime when was it, He might have lost a bit of stamina but gained a lot more in ring IQ.
You're just a ****ing hater, Calzaghe H2H = ATG, Great Speed, Great Stamina, Great Workrate, Good chin, Decent Power (70 % KO) before his brittle hands made him slap, Great underrated Footwork, Good head movement

    Disagree.

Jones Jr due to his achievements throughout a decade accomplished more than either fighter and beat a lot of very credible fighters along the way, his accomplishments as a MW, SMW, LHW and HW champion are what give him the "ATG" achievements.

Hopkins and Calzaghe basically have the same career, excepting the fact that Hopkins has a few more champions who moved up from lower weight classes against him which make those wins seem more impressive than I think they should be.

Ultimately, the losses on Hopkins career came throughout his career. The best results in Hopkins career? All came within the last 6-7 years. Hopkins was not in his physical prime when they fought but the way he keeps himself in shape and the style and game he had, he was closer to prime when he fought Calzaghe than he was when Calzaghe fought him.

The problem here is that most of you only saw Calzaghe in the last few fights of his career and don't actually realise the state of play in the SMW division, how good some of the fighters in that division were and how much Calzaghe had to change his style from the earlier days where he threw straight power punches and knocked guys out to the later days where he had to protect his hands.

Ultimately, H2H - Calzaghe beats any version of B-Hop. Jones Jr beats any version of B-Hop. Jones Jr likely beats any version of Calzaghe, although I think the fight will be closer than any fight Jones Jr had up until the 00s.

    Roy Jones is the king.
Calzaghe made Hopkins his ***** in Hopkins own backyard. Hopkins tried every desperate way to cheat his way to a victory cos he had no answer to Joe.
It was Calzaghes first time in America and his first at L/H.
    Calzaghe is undefeated.
    He beats Hopkins every time.

Agree with that, Jones and Hopkins are similar(legacy).
I saw Calzaghe for most of his career, Although i disagree with you on some points atleast it was a proper post.

    Legacy

    Hopkins - RJJ - Calzaghe

In there prime, who would have won?

    RJJ - Hopkins - Calzaghe

Most likely to give value for money

    RJJ - Calzaghe - Hopkins

Was prime Hopkins the 25 year old that lost his first fight, or the 30 year old that lost to RJJ? Or the 38 year old that lost to Jermain Taylor?

    Hopkins post 40....

Wins over Winky Wright (P4P rated at time), Kelly Pavlik (P4P rated at time), Antonio Tarver (P4P rated at time), Jean Pascal (Ring LHW champion and just defeated Chad Dawson who was P4P rated)

    Hopkins pre 40

Wins over ODLH (Coming off highly disputed "win" over Sturm), Trinidad (P4P rated, titlist at weight class), Joppy, Johnson.

Hopkins post 40 has the best achievements of any man of any time, including George Foreman.

Hopkins pre 40 had 3 of his 5 losses and arguably not his finest win (I say beating Tarver, Pascal and Pavlik all rank as his top 3 wins)

So, when do you stipulate this magical prime of Hopkins was?

Atleast someone hear knows when hopkins prime actually was, He has finaly shown to be ageing after the Pavlik Victory although he is 3-0-1 (should be 4-0) in his last fights
