Is the poster zakman really an internet persona of smoger? :think

 

The guy in the blue trunks used to be Roy Jones Jr. It's so sad...has there ever been such a fall from grace in boxing history? I remember how shocked everyone was when he got his first (legitimate) loss against Tarver, and now he has 8 losses, 4 by brutal KO...

 

If Lebedev had any heart at all, he wouldn't have thrown that last shot, regardless of if the ref stepped in or not. Him NOT throwing that shot at an obviously badly hurt Jones would have been pure class, something Lebedev clearly lacks...

 

Its a professional boxing bout and hes there to win, the fight itself was a farce of an idea and you could criticise him for that but not for being ruthless in the ring.

Smoger was negligent and needs a good talking to about his game because Lebedev gave him an easy opt-out for Roy on a platter when he held back that punch and Smoger sat there with his thumb up his arse, guaranteeing a terribly unnecessary finish.

Jones really needs to retire he has been brutally knocked out a number of times now. The sanctioning bodies need to step in to protect him if he doesn't retire, he's a tragedy just waiting to happen.

 

Grow a pair, this is boxing man... go watch some footage from old school KOs... Or go watch Dancing with the stars..

Roy Jones insists on continuing to fight, this is what happens.

 

Heart? This is a combat sport... modern day gladiators...

He just spent 2 months busting his ass for this fight, 10 rounds getting hit by this guy... and you expect him to show heart? I bet in hindsight he might feel bad... but in the heat of the moment, I am sure it's harder than we think to stop throwing.

 

It's just sad that Roy won't hang them up.... He is an ATG , he has nothing else to gain in boxing...

If Roy's long term health in effected, then what was it all for? A few fights at the end of your career?

 

Lebedev lacks class? You don't stop throwing until the ref or corner intervenes. Boxers go through training camps with the main focus of punching and beating their opponent, they don't go through a training camp so they can take sympathy in to the ring with them...they are essentially fighting machines after all. Lebedev does not lack class, you're letting your emotional attachment toward Jones affect your analysis. The ref is to blame, he should have been able to come to an instant conclusion that Jones was out on his feet, he hesitated, and Jones took a shot he should not have taken.

 

no way Smoger stops a fight in Moscow. He wouldn't come back on the plane if he stopped it prematurely. This is Russia not ***gity human rights USA.

 

He is going to need a bib and diapers before long.

 

He should never fight again.
