Jones would have dominated Michaelzewski the same way that he did against Hall and Woods.

Jones played with Hall like a baby and Hall gave two good fights to Darius.

Michaelzewski had no footwork at all.

    Jones would have destroyed him

Exactly. Its laughable when people claim that he ducked DM. I just tell people to watch footage of him and Jones in their primes. DM would be lost in there with Roy.

I wish like hell that RJJ would have never moved up to heavyweight for that stupid ass John Ruiz fight. I was a great fight but it cost us some prime years of one of the greatest boxers ever.

Tarver or Calzaghe wouldn't have been able to hit him in the ass with a hand full of rice if he fought RJJ before he had to lose all of the weight (muscle and reflexes) after his heavyweight excursion. And they would have been punished when they tried to. Why did he do that anyway? Everyone knows that the true heavyweight champion then was Lennox Lewis, and RJJ wasn't going to fight him.

Roy was brilliant here, but his fight against Percy Harris is absolutely ridiculous.

The most impressive thing about Roy is the range he fought at... He is a full 6 feet plus from the guy and he can tag him at will. He would of destroyed the methodical ordinary DM euro dude. No ****ing question.

Doubt I'll see another fighter with the athletic gifts of Roy Jones in my lifetime. When you think about it, he was a one in a however-many-billion people that have walked the earth type of athletic talent. A boxing God.

Let's be fair to DM. He was past his prime when he fought Hall and he did had an easier time with Montell Griffin.

Jones is the most amazing athlete the grace a boxing ring. He's the Lebron James of boxing...a physical marvel that comes along once in a lifetime But despite the amazing gift, he was missing something that would have pushed him up there with the greats like Duran & Leonard.

Greatness is attained through overcoming adversity. He had a partner to tangle with and he never did it. I don't care if Jones could beat DM 10 times over, but the fact that he never did it hurt his legacy. He was also missing solid technical skills and a solid chin.

P4P, I'd take a lot of fighters in their prime over Jones. Jones was just a great athlete, the others have the skills to back it up.

The man never had an equal because he made them look average ..Look at what he did to Hopkins and Toney 2 hall of famers and everyone else that was put in the ring with him .I find it laughable to think DM is some sort of gate keeper to greatness when he himself isn't even that great of a fighter in his own division yet all time !! The man wasn't hit flush in over 15 yrs but yet your going to use what happened to him at the tail end of his career as the reason for his lack of greatness .

If that the case then what does it say about DM who lost to Julio Gonzales who Jones destroyed ! The man cemented his greatness in the 90's and was recognized as such ..None of those people wh gave him that recognition are saying well since he lost we should take it back !

Again, DM was past his prime when he fought Gonzales. It's really easy to bring up such defeats because Jones had a number of them when he was past his prime. Clinton woods beat Johnson who knocked Jones out, so Woods must be better than Jones, right? You know how this game works, so stop playing it.

I never said Jones wasn't great, he just wasn't as great as some of the guys I mentioned. Technical skills and consistency goes a long way and it's the reason why many people consider Hopkins a greater fighter than Jones and Calzaghe, despite being defeated by the both of them.

Jones beat a lot of guys with ease, but outside of Toney & Hopkins, none of them had longevity...unless you count Tarver, who knocked Jones out cold. And ever since his first KO, Jones never overcame that defeat and started the free-fall.

Never knew longevity bumps you up a few nothces all time ..If thats the case then Foreman should have been ranked above Ali since he fought longer .Head to head prime vs prime Jones was light years ahead of Hopkins ..Whats even easier is to Rank Hopkins over this current version of Jones .Only that select few would rank Bhops over Roy .

At their best Jones was more accomplished and was the better fighter head to head .For all the crap about their prime people had to remember at the time they fought they were ranked the # 1 and 2 best middleweights in the world with comprable records ..
Hopkins just having the 1 loss .

What has Hopkins accomplished that surpasses what Jones did in the ring outside fight longer? The only reason he even dominated the middeweight division was because Jones left .Yet im supposed rank him higher for what ? Becoming light heavy champ ? Really ?? Longeveity is not a criteria for a higher ranking .

Shame about the latter part of his career, diminished his legacy. But at his peak there's not too many better.
