I'd like to speak more highly of Mike Jones but I think he's very flawed. The way he gassed himself out trying to KO Karass was probably the dumbest display of boxing I've ever seen. He has the speed and skill but he better polish his brain if he wants to be an elite fighter.
I don't know if it was a "robbery" but Soto-Karass probably deserved the nod, but at least Jones is willing to fight him again. this time, Jones won't try to stop Soto and won't gas out in the second round by throwing 80 blocked punches in a row. Jones wins a clearer and wider decision this time
lol what hatred. i had it a draw. oh my bad he is mexican so captain save a hoe has to come through. I actually watched it with no bias. and like i said I had it a draw. but i wouldnt mind it if it was 6-4 either way. either way there is a rematch to settle business. as the poster before me stated he won 1, 2 and 9, 10. i had 7 or 8 for him too dont remember which one. but ah well its time for the rematch to see if jones is for real. Not to mention Jones threw more and landed more for the fight.
I missed the first fight (was on vacation with my girl the weekend of Pacquiao-Margarito, which was ridiculously predictable and never interested me anyway). These are two of my favorite welterweights of the last several years but who seemed to be at very different points in their careers (Soto Karass the prospect-turned-bust who never quite made it over the hump to become "special", while Jones had been looking very impressive although still quite a way off from fulfilling his total potential). I expected Jones to dominate. I don't really regret skipping the Pacquiao-Margarito PPV, but I'll definitely watch a BAD of Montiel-Donaire and Jones-Karass II. :good
They only blow it out of proportion or call it a robbery when the fighter that gets the decision is a Fighter they DON'T LIKE.
I had Jones winning the first two and last two rounds, with a couple of the late rounds close enough comparative to previous rounds that I gave the slight edge to Jones. Really was a majority decision type of fight. Fight would've gone differently if Jones had left himself half a tank in the second round instead of emptying the damn thing.
Jones' stupidity in the 2nd round almost cost him lose his precious 0. Karras should have won MD or close UD in that fight. good to have a rematch to settle this one out.
you CLEARLY need glasses if you thought karass CLEARLY won the fight. the punch stats tell another story pal
There was no CLEAR winner of the first fight. If this rematch comes through, that is good for boxing. It's good to see the guy that was supposed to lose, but fought a close valiant fight, get a deserved second chance.
From 3-8 Karass was punching Jones around the ring. 9-10 were close ish but Karass for me was a CLEAR winner of the fight overall.
