This was a classic case of an Un-Proven fighter not understanding HOW TO WIN. Yeah Sure he's undefeated, but untested. Long time trainer Eddie Futch had a great saying about young inexperienced fighters. "They Chase a KO". Jones hurt Soto-Karass in round 2, then he spent the rest of the round Chasing a KO. And he punched himself out!!! Once he gets smarter (and I think that fight made him smarter)....he'll take his time and he'll be more efficient with his punches and BOX his way to a stoppage. This fight also says alot about Soto-Karass. If a Fighter punches himself out in round 2...and you still cant get him out...or even put him down for the remainder of the fight...WOW!!! I have a feeling Jones/Soto-Karass II will end up like Williams/Martinez II.
Al Bernstein himself has said that the 97-93 card in favor of Jones is one of the worst he's ever seen in all his years in the sport.
