Jon looks slower and more hittable than he used to, and a big part of his effectiveness at LHW was the size and range advantages he had over his opponents. A big, tall, athletic HW with one hitter quitter power and takedown defence (like Ngannou, or surprise surprise Tom) is a very risky match up for him because they may well have the ability to force him into a striking match and then negate his range control and land something big on him, especially now that hes older and slower. Hence why he wants nothing to do with Tom and avoided Ngannou too.
