I know, this may sound strange but isnt speed and reflexes the first thing to go? In jones it seems his power is pretty much gone, but his speed is still awesome.

His power came from his super human speed. He aint nowhere close to as fast as he used to be even tho he's still very fast.

Plus he's not punching with confidence and isnt butting his all behind his punches.

His power mostly came from his speed and activity. Fighters never saw those punches coming how he threw them from odd angles and insane speed it always stunned different opponents. Jones made an ATG quality fighter like Toney look beyond ordinary.

Foreman made a good point when he said Jones can carry his power all the way to heavyweight after what he did to Griffin when he went there flat footed throwing punches with KO behind them. Jones stunned/hurt Ruiz with a single shot in that and Ruiz had to hold on, that was late in the fight too.

When a fighter has the ability to throw punches extremely fast and from odd angles it usually stuns, drops or KOs.

His speed is nothing like it used to be.

    Roy's legs are GONE.

He stopped doing roadwork YEARS ago.:-(

He fights different. He lets guys come onto him now most of the times, and tangles with them on the inside with shorter punches. He's flat footed and not getting the same leverage into his punches.

In his prime how many times would you see him leap across the ring? He had the ability to pull that off back then.

Plus confidence. Back then he actually wanted to knock the guy out most of the time, now he seems happy to just put on a show.

I dont consider Roy Jones to be that much of a puncher at 175.

Telesco, Julio Gonzalez took his best shots for 12 rounds, Roy tried to get Telesco out of there to.

His power came from both his speed, accuracy and timing. He's not that more accurate, and he lost a very little part of his speed, and his timing is still pretty what it used to be, just like his speed. He misses some punches.

RJ used his speed to hurt fighters at his best. He had pop, but nobody saw his shots comin. At this point, he's aged and lost his legs. But his handspeed ain't left him yet.
