    How's that? It's jones who's injured!

    Evans will hurt Davis!

This is terrible news for two reasons: Jones likely has a very serious injury given the timetable here and the fact that they picked Phil Davis to fill in for him. Davis is getting pushed way too fast. There a ton of people who keep comparing him to Jones, but they just aren't in similar stages of development. I like Davis and think that he has a lot of potential, but he's still pretty one dimensional. Unless Rashad has regained some confidence in his striking, this is likely to be a very boring fight.

Joe Silva and the UFC matchmaking crew are hardly the geniuses that some people claim they are. Rashad should be fighting Shogun in Brazil or the winner of Machida/Couture.

To bad for Rashad. Hes been waiting for his shot for along time. To only get injured. Now the shot is again taken away from him. What a bummer. I cant stand Rashad but to bad this gotta happen.

Is it just a bad memory, or are more and more MMA matchups getting cancelled due to injury?

Fighters have to **** clean with more regularity these days eliminating the use of certain PED's to aid their recovery. I think that's way Thiago Silva was caught out recently. After 12+ injury lay off the temptation to speed the recovery must have been huge. He's got bills to pay of course

    Just my opinion though

Is this for the number 1 contender spot ? If so neither is very deserving. Davis has faced one notable opponet and won very tightly and didnt impress at all. Rashad gets KTFO by Machida and was on the verge of being KTFO until Rampage and Thiago basically just gave up.

Don't think that's true Stoo - both California and Nevada have suspended out of competition drug testing due to budget cuts.

To me its likely to be more about fighters being less willing to fight injured because of the stakes involved.

There's probably more than one reason. Was just addressing the point with one point of view.
